Religious Tattoos

The term ‘religious tattoos’ usually inspires thoughts of specific Judeo-Christian imagery, but there are many more religious tattoo traditions beyond this one type. Interestingly, Judaism and Islam are probably two of the least common religions to be associated with tattoo, because both of these religions view tattooing as against the will of God. With Christianity, there is more debate.

Religious tattoos are quite common nowadays. We see cross tattoos or religious symbols and images being sported by different individuals around. And, in all truthfulness, a few of these individuals do not fit into the bill of what a religious person should be. But one question remains: Is tattooing of religious symbols recognized as a religious act? It would depend on which religious sector you belong to, and on what your religious beliefs are.

These tattoos come in a variety of different designs. They often include crosses and bible scriptures. One of the most symbolic figures would be Jesus. Someone may get a tattoo with Jesus to display their faith in Christianity or other religious beliefs.
